Sooooo…. it’s an entire festival, comprised entirely of bacon and beer. And it’s at the DeltaPlex, which is really pretty big, so, that’s like, a lot of bacon and beer. Unless you’re veg, this is pretty much where you want to be on November 8. They’ll have small plates from local chefs (with bacon), cocktails and brews (with bacon) and bacontrepreneurs (with, one would imagine, bacon). In other words, bacon.

When: October 25, 2014 (11:30am-5pm)
Where: Rockford Brewing Company, Perrin Brewing Company, Cellar Brewing Company and The Hideout Brewing Company
How Much: $65 per person

A true enthusiast’s event. Travel to four different breweries north of GR with other beer lovers, meet the brewers, beer samples are included, all in the comfort of a 15-passenger van with a sober driver. Sounds like heaven to us. the “Great North” tour includes a trip to Rockford Brewing Company, Perrin Brewing Company, Cellar Brewing Company and The Hideout Brewing Company. Our friends at GR Beer Tours even bring an icy cooler so you can buy a sixer at stop one and take it home cold after stop four. Clever.

When: October 31, 2014 (8:30pm)
Where: The Pyramid Scheme, Grand Rapids
How Much: $12 advance / $14 day of
Look. We know it’s not exactly a beer event. But come on — you can tie one on and see Stepdad (and others). Watch the video above and tell me that’s not the most fun ever and how you really wanna spend your Halloween night listening to it. That track is practically on loop at the Beer O’Clock office.
And you know, while we’re on it, this goes for everything they do at the Scheme. If you haven’t been to a show there, you really need to get on it. Go ahead, just choose one at random. Play some pinball, drink good beer, dance it out.
Where: DeVos Place, downtown Grand Rapids
When: November 20-22, 2014 (times vary)
How Much: Single day, $15. 3-day pass, $40.

Though it doesn’t fall into our usual MO, being at DeVos place and being mostly debauchery free (though I will do immoral things to some artisan cheese), this event is the biggie when it comes to culinary conventions in the city. Featuring 1200+ wines and 200+ beers, the selection available for tasting is pretty great. Add in food from places we normally couldn’t afford that can be bought with your included tasting tickets, and you can definitely get your money’s worth of high-end comestibles.
