Long Road Distillers

Full disclosure: we have a soft spot for Long Road Distillers.

They let us traipse through their bar when it was under construction (twice!) like we were actual journalists. In addition, they gave us swag that we obviously look great in.

But all of that notwithstanding, Long Road Distillers is one of the best spots in Grand Rapids. Amazing cocktails, creative menus, beautiful decor — it’s like being invited to that really cool party that you always wished you could be invited to… you know, where you’d finally wear that three-piece Goodwill suit you bought, just hoping someone would invite you to a party in some loft where you could laugh about that New Yorker article you read. (The ONE New Yorker article your read. Philistine.)

You never got invited, did you?

Well, consider this your standing invite. Not only will Long Road Distillers let you come in, they won’t even make you feel bad about that Goodwill suit (“No, we love it — it’s ‘retro'” -Long Road’s kind staff). Seriously, though, get that thing tailored, at least.

While there, you can marvel at the STUPIDLY gorgeous still, stand proudly at their bar made of whiskey barrels (did they have to have a cooper do that?) and fawn over their extremely timely and lovely graphic design choices.

….Why aren’t you at Long Road Distillers yet? Go. You’re not getting any more fashionable just standing here.
